The enclosure I replaced was a Scosche Se12 (also purchased from Amazon) with 1.25 cu ft sealed footprint.Initial thoughts on this box is that the quality of workmanship happened to be shoddy. The corners at the bottom of the enclosure had the carpet already close to being worn off and exposing the MDF. The terminal cup appeared to be so tightly screwed and rapidly thrown in there that none of the screws were actually flush. All of the inside seams had sealed beading, but they were not uniform in any way. Some had too much sealant and some had too little. One of the corners had an excess of sealant in an attempt to mask an exposed staple. It ended up making that one spot look bad. The packaging was basically this enclosure in a cardboard box. After breaking in the sub, it sound great in this box. Best price around for a box this size. It came with a little bit of the material peeled off from shipping probably, but I really dont care/mind. Besides, when it is in the trunk and I am in the drivers seat, I cannot even see it. And the performance/sound was not affected. I have one Alpine Type R 12" with a650 watt rms amp. The difference was night and day! Before I had the Atrend B-box sealed and I thought it was hitting hard but after installing the sub in this box without changing any settings, I could feel my eyes vibrating and everything that wasn't bolted down vibrating around me. My only complaint was that the corners of the box suffered some damage from shipping but no big deal considering. BTW if you have a late model Honda Sedan you are going to have a fun time fitting this bad boy in the trunk! A+++ |
