I listen to audio mp3's in the car a lot. Lately my old speakers (factory installed 6-1/2" (6.5") diameter) were starting to crackle. I listened to numerous speakers at Bestbuy and I felt the Rockford Fosgate P1653's were clearer than the others. I had no preference for any brand and was just listening for accurate sound.Installation: The most difficult part is the installation. Richpin on youtube has a video on removing the inner panels which was very helpful. My plug ends were different so I had to cut off my factory plugs and use a Multimeter to determine which wire was Positive (+) and Negative (-). The speakers did not fit exactly like my factory ones and required drilling different screw holes etc. I did NOT use the RF speaker grill covers because I don't want to attract thieves attention. It puts out a great clear sound not even amped and kills with the extra juice. For the price you can't beat it. Great product, great sound, great price, I for sure recommend it. I replaced two Fosgate Primes I thought weren't working (the installation guy told me that). I checked up on my system and and the tech screwed with my system. After fixing the tech's mess-ups and adjusting it these speakers make me feel comfortable and anticipate the addition of a subwoofer. I have these speakers in the front and two Fosgate power series in the back. Everything sounds crisp (other than the very minor rattling, at very loud volumes, that says the speakers need to fit really snug and not an adaptation). You can hear the difference between the Punches and the Powers (the powers sound like good midbass and tweeters, the punches sound like good woofers and tweeters). I really can't tell where the mids are coming from but the set is great, EVEN WITH NO WOOFER INSTALLED. |
