I have read some reviews stating that these speakers are lacking in production of the lower frequencies; this is simply not true at all. The frequency response of these speakers are as advertised. Mine are installed front and rear in a 2001 Mustang Bullitt with a Pioneer AVIC-X930BT 6.1" In-Dash Navigation AV Receiver with iPod/iPhone Control, Bluetooth, Pandora and a Pioneer GM-D9500F Class-FD 4-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier. This combination seems to work wonderfully, as far as I'm concerned. Huge improvement in bass clarity and tightness over stock JBL (2010 4runner "premium" JBL setup). Could use some fine tuning but JBL amp is pretty much locked down by Toyota. I purchased a pair of these about 2 months ago. I have not matched them up with a amp as of yet because I will be buying 2 more for the rear. I have a JVC AVX830 pushing them and they really sound off. Unfortunately the JVC AVX830 is very limited to controlling the highs and lows being sent to my kappas. The tweeters are a little on the large side but easily overlooked once they start singing to you. The mids from the speaker itself are smooth and undistorted. The filters are a bit large but wasn't really a problem since I installed them in a larger vehicle (Crown Vic). The decible button control button on the filters is a nice feature as well being able to adjust from 0db to -6db (especially since I don't have'm hooked to a amplifier yet). You absolutely can't miss with these components. My only suggestion would be to match up with a good amplifier with crossover controls and high/lowpass... Read more |
