First, here is the rest of the system installed in a Honda Accord.HU- Sony cdg-GT55UIW. Amp- Sony GTX6040, 600 watt@ 2 ohms/60watts (RMS)X4 ch. Sub-Pioneer 12in. TS303R 1200 watt max/250watt nominal. Sub amp-Dual XPE2700, 400 watts/150(RMS)watt X1 ch. Front speakers- Pioneer 6.5in component speakers (separate tweeters) (Remember the "big" watt# on any sound component means just about nothing. It is the RMS, or Nominal power rating that matters) These Kicker 6X9's are loud. I was intending originally to have the sound stage in the front of the vehicle. The Kickers changed that. The front Pioneers, although good speakers, relatively clean, are just not in the same category of "LOUD" that the Kickers are. The Pioneer's "fall apart" trying to keep up in volume. But at over 60+ percent off, and having Kicker speaker products before, I knew I couldn't miss and didn't. The magnets on these things are MASSIVE for 6x9's, nearly as big as you'd see on a high quality 8" sub woofer or so. The single tweeter dishes out more than enough high pitch and clearly with it. Woofer and basket are made of high quality material, internal wiring on speaker designed and made well. Only negative if it does seem to crackle/distort a little, but only under extreme settings, I bet if I had a real nice 4 channel amp it would be perfect. The bass response is also very good, it is a Kicker speaker and thats what theyre known for. Wish more electronics were made in USA though. |
